Just the facts

Conference: Great Lakes Conference

Coach: Ron Rutt, sixth year (45-15)

OHSAA: Division III, Region 10

2018: 8-3 (5-1)

Twitter: @BayAthletics

Home field: Bay Memorial Stadium

Outlook

On paper it would appear Bay is looking at a down year with only three returners on offense and four on defense. But Coach Ron Rutt seems to always have his team ready to go come Week 1. The Rockets have won at least a share of the Great Lakes Conference title every year since its inception in 2015 so it’s hard to imagine them as anything other than a conference favorite once again.

Player to watch

Quarterback Logan LaMere is back to run the offense as one of three returning starters, and will be faced with more pressure than ever considering the level of inexperience in the lineup.

Underclassman to watch: Anthony Tulli is the only sophomore in the starting lineup on either side of the ball and will be targeted plenty at cornerback this year.

Bottom line

IF: Bay stays true to form, THEN: the Rockets will continue their reign of the Great Lakes Conference.
