Outlook

Fairview has a lot of new faces on its roster this season and is looking at a rebuild with only five returning lettermen. There will no doubt be growing pains, especially on an offense with three returners, but the defense could keep the Warriors competitive in games with seven starters from last year’s team.

Player to watch

Quarterback Declan Jewitt is one of three returners on offense, with only two lineman with any other significant varsity experience. The junior will be heavily relied on to lead the Warriors this season.

Underclassman to watch: Junior Isaac Paxton will be Jewitt’s main target at wideout this season, and will have to be a big time playmaker to keep Fairview competitive this year.

Bottom line

IF: The offense develops early, THEN: Fairview can at least match its win total from a year ago.
